Hello! Welcome to my magical world of dolls. My name is Shashi Nayagam. I was born and brought up in a small hill station in India. It was there as a little girl, that I came across a friend of my Mum's, who made cloth dolls. Some times she would baby-sit me and I would spend hours looking at her beautiful dolls. I vowed that I would one day make dolls like hers. However, in the meantime life got in the way. Now I live in the UK. and I only started my journey into doll making in 1998. I found 'Friends of Cloth Dolls' (FOCD) on the Internet, and it opened a whole new world to me. Since then through the help, inspiration and encouragement given by my husband and many friends in the doll-making world, I am improving my skills day by day. With every doll I make, I go through a learning curve. I am learning so many different aspects of art that I can incorporate into my dolls and hope that my creativity will grow and continue to be exciting and challenging, as I venture further along my doll-making journey. I also hope that I may be able to share my skills with others, as so many of my friends in the doll making community have done with me.
